Overheard in New York

June 27, 2007

“I can make you talk like an Indian.”
“How?”
“I went in that Internet cafe the other day and it was really sketchy.”
“How many are you? You? You? C’mon.”
“You’re still a soldier in your mind …”
“But nothing’s on the line.”
“Excuse me. I just want to look at the menu. Excuse me.”
“I think what it is is it’s a way of detachment.”
“I’m trying to finish before I leave. I shouldn’t care, but I care.”
“Well, apropos of your sister’s trip to Cairo.”
“It smells like updog in here.”
“What’s updog?”
“Not much, man, what’s up with you?”
